3 Little Geraniums

I'm not going to lie to you.  Today is my birthday.  Now that you know, you have to awkwardly wish me "Happy Birthday" whether you wanted to or not.  I kind of keep to myself for the most part and I don't usually tell people who I know that it's my b.day.  But I will shamelessly tell random strangers that "it's my birthday!" I guess it's in hopes that they'll give something free {?}, I dunno.  {That plan hasn't worked so far, by the way and Superman teases me about it every year.}  :)

So here I am today.  On my birthday.  Blogging.  I know I live a dangerously exciting life.  But Superman took the day off and we all went to Olive Garden for lunch and stuffed ourselves with some artery plugging pasta and topped it off with White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake and if that isn't dangerous {to my health} I don't know what is!  I just woke up from a blissful b.day nap.  Ezra is still sleeping and so is Superman.  Lila is playing beek-a-boo with Madelyn and life is good.

So.  Onward and upward.  I sorta dropped off the face of the blogging world for the last week, because it's Kids Clothes Week {Summer Edition} and I've been sewing up little Geraniums like a crazy person!
I bought the pattern in the spring and now I'm wondering why I didn't start using it until this week.  Do you ever do that?  Buy a pattern and not use it right away?  I do that a lot.
 Boy oh boy.  Can you say farmer's tan?  :)  I love this little girl.
This yellow tunic was definitely my favorite.
It took me a minute to figure out the pattern {that's not really Rae's fault.  It's just because my brain doesn't always function the way it should when I read patterns}. But once I got going I didn't wanna stop. It's relatively easy and the end result is super gratifying.  So gratifying, in fact, that I made two more.  The gray geranium was Lila's favorite.  Why, you ask?
 Pockets, of course.
Lila + pockets= instant love
 They're just so perfect for holding all sorts of fun.  {In this case, fish crackers.}
I really liked how the little capped sleeves fit on this one.
 I also loved the little notched neck-line.
 And I have a little niece coming into town this week so I had to make one more.  :)
I stuck with tunics instead of a dress for these because I didn't have enough material.  But Lila needed shirts more than dresses anyway.  Plus I'm sure I'll be sewing the Geranium dress in the near future.
The pattern really is fun and it gives you tons of options to change things up.  It also looks good inside and out which is super nice.
 I opted for pleats on this one, but I didn't do the inside pockets and I still liked the way it fit.  {Lila fits in 3T right now, but I made this 4T because I wanted her to grow into them.}
 Ok last one.
 No. wait, I just had to share one more.  Looks like we have a little River Dance goin' on. Oh Lila.
All right.  Now I'm done.  So happy birthday {to me...not tacky at all} and happy geranium.  Super fun pattern.  :)  Have a good day!

  1. Found you through KCW, and adorable, I love these!! Great fabric choices and yes, the gray pockets are darling, can't blame your daughter. :)

    I did the same thing, bought the pattern and then thought, I need to make millions of these!! Okay, 4, but in my defense 2 are dresses and 2 are shirts. :)

    Happy birthday! Hope you can do something fun!

    1. Yikes! I'm way late in responding, but thank you so much! :)

  2. I am in love with these. How long does it take you to sew one of these?

    1. Honestly, once I practiced, one shirt took me a couple hours, which means that anyone else could complete it in half the time. :)
