Floral Pretty in Peplum

The air in my house is getting positively pretty with peplums.
But that's ok, right?
For the next few weeks, I'll be focusing on one of my favorite patterns The Pretty in Peplum Pattern by Abby from Sew Much Ado.  I bought it last year and it's quickly become one of my favorites.  And you know me.  When I love a pattern, I sew it to death and use it in all sorts of ways.  Like seriously guys.  I don't even show you half of the things I sew because I'm always using the same pattern over and over and over again.  :)  Creature of habit, I guess.
The thing I really like about this particular peplum pattern is that the peplum doesn't end up being too short, you know what I mean?  A lot of peplum patterns end up showing major tummy and my kids just grow right out of them. Not so with this pattern.  The knit (from Joanns) on this particular shirt has a lot of stretch, so it hangs down a little more than usual.  But it's soft and Lila loves it.

I sewed a size 4T based on the size chart.  Lila just turned 6 but she's a petite little thing, so it fits perfectly with room to grow.

I also opted to sew the 3/4 length sleeve and I didn't do the skirt (like I did on this dress) so that Lila could wear this top for school.  (Uh oh, thread alert vvvvvv Where are my trimming scissors :) ??)

All in all, this shirt has already received lots of love and it's held up beautifully.

And when you consider how hard kids can be on clothes, this deserves to be noted.  ;)
