Nothing is more satisfying than a good refashion, am I right? That is to say, nothing in the sewing world. Outside of sewing, I can think of a few things equally satisfying. Homemade chocolate cake, taking a long nap--neither of which thing I'm eating or doing right now, I'm just sayin'...but let's move on before I start thinking too much about that chocolate cake I don't have.
Back to sewing. Every year, I channel my inner grandma and get all gung-ho about using up what we have, de-stashing, refashioning etc. So when Jonathon got rid of a bunch of t-shirts, I made them into skirts for my girls. I was putting together a tutorial when I realized that a t-shirt skirt very similar to this was one of the first things I ever sewed back when I got re-interested in sewing. The original tutorial is from Sew Much Ado. I've always been inspired by Abby's sewing and I'm so grateful for those early tutorials way back in the blog day that inspired me to get into sewing. It's been such a fun hobby!
Fast forward seven (!) years later and I'm still making the same projects, with a little more confidence, so much so that it becomes my own and I don't have to look at step by steps anymore because it actually makes sense in my mind! #yay
Anyway, the only thing I did differently is that I increased the length and measurements to fit my 4T-5T Madelyn and I added pom poms, lace, and flowers to the different skirts.
So that was a fun little walk down memory lane. Thanks for stickin' with me on this journey guys. My blogging is sporadic at best, but I love this little outlet. :)
